DIRIGO WORKSHOP
Unlocking the Social Code
People aren’t difficult—
They’re different.
Unlocking the Social Code helps you understand your own behavioral patterns, recognize the signals others are sending, and make more intentional choices about how you communicate.
Not by becoming someone else.
By getting better at connecting with someone who isn’t you.

EVERY INTERACTION HAS A CODE
The Social Code is the behavioral signals we send, receive, and interpret in every human interaction.
Before someone says very much, they’re already telling us something. Their pace, their energy, and how direct they are. How much detail they want. The questions they ask. How quickly they decide.
We notice these things—often without realizing it. The challenge is that we don’t simply see behavior. We interpret it through our individual lens.
- One person sees confidence. Another sees impatience.
- One sees thoughtfulness. Another sees indecision.
- One sees enthusiasm. Another sees too much.
Same signal. Different interpretation. Different response.
That space between what someone does and what we think it means is where communication often breaks down. But it’s also where something can change.
At Dirigo, we leverage DiSC® to give us a framework for understanding behavioral differences. But the Unlocking the Social Code workshop also goes a step further, by demonstrating not only how to understand differences, but how to tap into their strengths by communicating more clearly and collaborating more effectively.

A DIFFERENT QUESTION
That distinction changes the experience.
That question moves us:
- From judgment to curiosity.
- From assumption to observation.
- From expecting someone else to adapt to considering what we can do differently.
Because effective communication isn’t simply saying what we mean—
It’s creating the best chance that what we mean is what the other person actually receives.

MORE THAN LEARNING. ACTIVATION.
You don’t learn to read people by reading about people.
Dirigo’s blended learning model combines practical frameworks with facilitated discussion, reflection, experiential activities, application, and practice.
Participants don’t simply hear about accountability.
They encounter it.
They recognize their own responses, challenge assumptions, experiment with different approaches, and apply what they’re learning to real situations.
The objective isn’t simply understanding. It’s activation—the movement from knowing to doing.
DO THESE QUESTIONS SOUND FAMILIAR?
-Why don’t they get it?
–Why are they so different from me?
–How can they possibly see things like that?
-What do I have to say to get through to them?
-Where is this friction coming from?
Unlocking the Social Code gives us insights into the way others are driven, the things that motivate them and the things that may frustrate them, as well! It challenges us to ask, “What might they need from me?”
For organizations, it can become a shared language for talking about differences without labeling people—and recognizing friction before it becomes conflict.
WHAT LEADERS TAKE AWAY
See the code once and you’ll see it everywhere.
The workshop ends.
But what you’ve learned goes on adding value.
It shows up in the next meeting. The next difficult conversation. The next client interaction. Thanksgiving dinner.
You’ve unlocked the code and you feel more confident. Confident that you understand how to navigate this interaction. Confident that you won’t get sidetracked by disconnects or perceived slights. Confident that you can listen and express yourself in a way that will connect with this person— meaningfully.
READY TO UNLOCK THE CODE?
Understand yourself. Read the signals. Change the connection.
Every conversation is filled with signals. You’re sending them. So is everyone around you. Most of us have spent our lives missing some or all of what’s really being said.
What if you cracked that code?
Discover your style. Read the signals. Unlock the connection.
